easiest way is to copy the program file you want to start with windows into your startup folder.

Use hotkey software, it includes running software at start up! I am using "Hotkeycontrol XP". It’s very cool! My version is old and free. New version may have to pay.

You don’t need to edit the registry, just make a shortcut to the software you want to lauch automatically into the Startup group within the Start Menu.

You dont have to, just put a shortcut to whatever program. e.g. calculator in your Startup folder.

    This is located in Start>Programs>Startup

You don’t have to touch the registry at all for this.
Open All Programs, right click on Startup and create shortcuts in this folder.
